On Wednesday the 10th of March, Peter and I loaded the Foodie wagon full of cakes, tea and funky crockery and trundled down the M8 to Glasgow, for my radio debut on the MacAuley and co show which is aired on BBC Radio Scotland every morning at 10 am!
We pulled up to a rather impressive building showing the infamous brand ‘BBC Scotland’…scary! After collecting our security pass a lovely lady from the show came to pick us up and take us up to the appropriate studio through many different corridors that look identical! Along with us was the guy (his name escapes me) who does a lot of the men’s fashion segments on both Scottish Radio and Television.
I had less than 10 minutes to set up a tea party on two canteen style trays outside the studio, there was no time to be nervous! With a little help from my big brother we managed to get a delicious selection of teas and cakes ready for the hungry presenters.
With the recent opening of Tim Burtons ‘Alice in Wonderland’, Macaulay and co show wanted to do a segment on holding the ideal tea party ranging from the décor, the teas, the cakes, activities and what kind of person enjoys a tea party!
I think my slot went pretty well, you don’t remember a thing about it, so after listening back and hearing feedback it was apparent that I was plugging Foodies possibly a little too much, which has now lead to my new nick name of Kirsty.co.uk!
